Additionally, Ms. Hamm has experience in providing dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and leading a DBT multi-family skills training course for adolescents and caregivers from 2019-2022.
Also dedicated to civil advocacy, Ms. Hamm volunteers and partners with local organizations to promote key mental health causes and join their ambitious endeavors of community outreach. Passionate about helping others in any way she can, she volunteers at a local church and other organizations. Ms. Hamm reports that while her time and service at these organizations is helpful to the individuals receiving services, this time and service allows Ms. Hamm to demonstrate with actions, gratitude for the contributions of these organizations to her own growth personally.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms Hamm was a preschool teacher, a home-schooling parent of two and children's director. She earned a bachelor's degree in human development and family sciences from Oklahoma State University. She then attained a Master of Arts in counseling psychology from Southern Nazarene University. As she considers herself a life-long learner, Ms. Hamm has since been diligently committed to receiving trainings of relevant content through continuing education in order to keep up with prominent and current issues.
Within the coming years, Ms. Hamm intends to grow not only her business but also her connection to the community. With psycho-education and acceptance, she strives to promote cultural competency, although never fully reached, among participants. She has noticed over the past few years that many people have lost the environments they needed to gain support and connection, negatively affecting many aspects of their lives. She aims to help impacted individuals build connections and obtain resources, as well as tools that they can use in their unique circumstances. She is well on her way to become an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider in the upcoming season of her career.
