During an earlier stage of his career, Mr. Stokes worked for Navigators Insurance Company (a Hartford brand) where he garnered expertise in various departments in the organization. Recognized for his tenure, Mr. Stokes was among the employees who worked the longest for Navigators before the two companies merged. He was also employed by JP Morgan Chase.
He is constantly inspired by his late aunt, Phyllis Jones, who was a Sr. Executive VP for Southern Farm Bureau in Richmond, Virginia. She mentored him, and Mr. Stokes promised that he would make her proud and become equally successful.
Enthusiastic about being involved in charitable causes, Mr. Stokes has volunteered his time raising money for such organizations and events as God's Love We Deliver, the MS Walk and AIDS Walk New York. He was also a performing member, captain and business manager for an adult cheer and dance squad in New York City. He was in charge of the finances and securing the teams insurance. Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Mr. Stokes plans to continue providing his time and energy to matters dear to him.
Mr. Stokes graduated from Murry Bergtraum High School for Business Careers with a Regents Diploma in accounting and finance. In addition, was ranked among the top 10% of his class out of 1,000 graduates. To continue his insurance development he attended St. John's University where a Foundation Degree was received in Insurance and Risk Management. He was a member of the "Gamma Iota Sigma" sorority at the university. Later, he won the highest and most prestigious award at Dale Carnegie, a place where great leaders and speakers are made. To cap it off, he held every office at the American Marine Insurance Forum, before becoming its President in 2013. This insurance organization promoted comradery while sharing ideas amongst all members, despite being business competitors.
