An expert in his field, Dr. Jagadeeswaran holds a Bachelor of Science in zoology, physics, and chemistry from SV University, a Master of Science in biochemistry from the University of Madras, and a PhD in biochemistry from the Indian Institute of Science. Subsequently, he expanded upon his expertise by completing a post-doctoral fellowship in human genetics at Yale University. In light of his outstanding body of work, Dr. Jagadeeswaran received a Lifetime Achievement Award and the Mario Toppo Award from the Association of Scientists of Indian Origin in America, the State of the Art Lecturer Award through the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis, and the Continuous Submission Award from the National Institutes of Health.
Though his career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Jagadeeswaran is most proud of introducing the zebrafish model to the field of hemostasis and thrombosis and is known by his colleagues as "The father of Zebrafish hemostasis and thrombosis."
