Backed by five decades of educational experience, Dr. Naik presently excels as a chemistry professor and internship coordinator for Monmouth University, where he began in 1977. In addition to teaching students, he has conducted a plethora of research, co-authoring such works as "Ozone-removal efficiencies of activated carbon filter after more than three years of continuous service" and "Dynamic Processes of Rhenium Polyhydride Complexes." In 2022 alone, he has published three co-authored publications one of which is a methods paper for an advanced undergraduate laboratory.
Likewise, Dr. Naik has authored several publications in a solo capacity, including "Porcelain square-n-triangle for the support of a crucible and its lid," "Inexpensive window material for infrared spectroscopy of Nujol-mulls," and "Reaction of Kojic Acid with Gold (III) Ions." During the early stages of his career, Dr. Naik gained valuable expertise in educational administration as the vice provost and dean of the graduate school at Monmouth University.
Outside of his work, Dr. Naik contributed to his community serving as the Director of a Junior Science Symposium for high school students that allowed them to do quality research and present their work at an annual national competitive conference. An expert in his field, he holds a bachelor's degree from St. Xavier's College (Goa, India), and a doctoral degree from the University of Notre Dame. In light of his professional achievements, he received the Distinguished Teacher Award in 1989. Over the years, he has also won the Stafford Presidential Award of Excellence, the Eugene Simko Faculty Leadership Award, and the Donald Warncke Award for Distinguished Service from Monmouth University. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in his work in educational administration and in positively affecting lives of many students. Within the coming years, Dr. Naik looks to move to Emeritus faculty status.
