Since joining the company in 2019, he has focused on serving the needs of high-net worth individuals, managing 1,000 accounts and a team of 100 producers and co-representatives. Mr. Murray's responsibilities also include helping businesses maintain necessary compliance in their scope of operations, developing policies, and attending meetings.
In addition to his work with JSM Brokerage Inc., Mr. Murray serves as a program coordinator for the Stony University Bowling Program and as a pro shop operator and coach at StrikeZone Pro Shop. Previously, he served as a graduate advising assistant in the admissions office at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, a finance specialist for the Suffolk County Comptroller's Office, a legislative assistant for Office of Suffolk County Legislator Leslie Kennedy, and an office assistant for New York State Congressman Tim Bishop.
Mr. Murray holds three degrees from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science with a minor in history in three years, then obtained a Master of Arts in Public Policy and, finally, a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in economics. Previously, he earned an associate degree in liberal arts from the honors program at Suffolk County Community College. Through all of his studies, Mr. Murray worked two part-time jobs and stayed active with volunteer work and hobbies.
A highly organized person with a strong drive to succeed, Mr. Murray attributes his success to his ability to multitask and work quickly under pressure. His successes have been recognized by a 30 Under 30 Award by Long Island Businesses, a title that was granted in just his second year of working with JSM Brokerage Inc. He is a member of the Long Island Business Association and is active with the Compassionate Action Inc. Animal Rescue Group and the Only Love Foundation, and he volunteers as a coach for the Stony Brook University Bowling Program. Looking toward the future, Mr. Murray hopes to be considered for a partner role at his agency.
