Fascinated by numbers, he chose to begin his career in the accounting field with prominent national accounting firms from 1991 until 2000. After nearly a decade in the industry, he accepted an opportunity with Merrill Lynch in 2000 in the Global Private Client group, where he was an assistant vice president and senior financial adviser. In those positions, he garnered significant experience in investments and wealth management. Despite the financial crisis that followed, Mr. Cirelli leveraged his expertise and made the decision to establish his own firm, North Shore Wealth Management Advisors, Inc., in New York in 2009.
As the president of his full-service financial organization for more than 13 years, Mr. Cirelli and his team of professionals have become respected leaders in the industry, serving clients throughout the tri-state area and the rest of the country. Catering to high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals, families and business owners, he notably excels in business retirement plans, corporate accounts, trusts, estates, foundations, and charitable and philanthropic planning. A dedicated and steadfast professional, Mr. Cirelli enjoys offering his expert advice, creating customized financial plans for his clients and witnessing positive results.
Prior to embarking upon his professional journey, Mr. Cirelli received a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting at Hofstra University in 1991. He subsequently completed business courses at Stony Brook University between 2008 and 2009 before earning a Master of Business Administration, with a concentration in finance and economics, at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2019. Mr. Cirelli is licensed as a Certified Financial Planner®, Certified Public Accountant and Personal Financial Specialist. Furthermore, he maintains Series 7, 24 and 66 licenses through the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
A true believer in the importance of giving back to others and serving his community, Mr. Cirelli has been active in many community, civic, educational, and professional organizations throughout his career. He has been a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Order Sons of Italy in America. He is also a national member of the Chicago Booth chapter of the Adam Smith Society, and he has volunteered his time as a member of the Questrom School of Business' dean advisory board at Boston University. He is a member of Tiro A Segno of New York and a member of the Columbus Citizens Foundation where he proudly supports the cultural and charitable missions of those organizations. He also took a leadership role in the New York State Society of CPAs as a former Suffolk County chapter president and chairperson of multiple committees, as well as with AICPA, teaching courses and lending his expertise to others over a period of many years. Mr. Cirelli formerly served as a New York City alumni club board member and social committee chairperson for The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He was also active for many years in coaching for community youth sports including football and lacrosse, and he remains a passionate athlete.
Attributing his success to his persistence, especially amid adversity and various other challenges, he finds constant inspiration in his family. Mr. Cirelli is also grateful to his parents and grandparents, who were well-educated and believed in the importance of earning a degree. This family background, as well as his personal drive for entrepreneurship and business growth, were the most important factors that motivated him to go into business for himself. Mr. Cirelli is an avid learner, who always seeks to better himself by expanding on his knowledge base to better serve others and continuously improve himself.
