RENTON, WA, January 11, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Andrea M. Brooks has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
After her father, a Pentecostal minister, passed away in 2008, Ms. Brooks began a journaling website, Sistahology.com, to help herself and others move through their ups and downs in a healthy way. Over the years, she has conducted a number of speaking engagements in the community to promote her website and reach out to those in need. Alongside her work with Sistahology, Ms. Brooks has been working on the UX Design Team at Google for the past year.
In 2020, Ms. Brooks launched SistahRona Candles & Incense and in 2022, she established Simply Brooks Events to fulfill her love of creating event experiences. She is the author of the book "Sistership a Keepsake," which was published in 2002.
Ms. Brooks previously spent 10 years at Microsoft where she and her team sponsored the first Kevin Durant Foundation Event in Seattle with Mary's Place. Her team was also responsible for years of NBA All Star Weekends, NFL Super Bowl sponsorships, Kanye West's first foundation event, and worked with the Walter Payton Foundation. She also gained valuable expertise as an executive business partner at Amazon for seven years.
Ms. Brooks was the first African American Executive Business Partner at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in the Office of the President of Global Health supporting the President. During her three-and-a-half year tenure, she was responsible for logistic and event planning including the first Scientific Advisory Committee made up of global health world leaders. "It was a trusted experience to be on the front line for a world organization to have an impact globally," she recalled.
Though hard work and dedication have brought her far, Ms. Brooks credits her success to her upbringing in a religious household. Within the coming years, she intends to slow down her pace at work and enjoy life. Ultimately, Ms. Brooks wants to create new memories, savor life's joys, and pursue more philanthropic work in her community so that she can continue to impact others in a positive way.
