Ms. Roberts became motivated to help immigrants and their families through her organization.
ATHERTON, CA, January 12, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lulu Roberts has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Roberts is the owner, founder, and board chair of The Joy Culture Foundation, a Chinese cultural nonprofit library and resource center organization. Headquartered in Menlo Park, California, the foundation notably focuses on providing Chinese and Taiwanese books to children ages six months to 13 years to promote cultural awareness. In addition to providing an array of books, Ms. Roberts' facility offers educational programs such as calligraphy and other forms of art and has a play center where the children can enjoy an assortment of educational toys and bond with their parents.
Established due to a lack of resources in the public library system that focuses on her country's culture, Ms. Roberts became motivated to help immigrants and their families through her organization. She also wanted to ensure that her children had adequate access to resources so that they could better understand their heritage and be more accepting of themselves. Looking toward the future, Ms. Roberts wants to ensure that The Joy Culture Foundation continues to run smoothly and eventually becomes self-sustaining. Her expansion plans include making the organization more inclusive for individuals of all races and backgrounds. She also aims to broaden its model throughout other areas of the state.
During an earlier stage of her career, Ms. Roberts had focused her career on journalism and communications as a news anchor at Taipei Channel 4 News station in Taipei, Taiwan. She also wrote for a local magazine and a Chinese newspaper in San Francisco. Ms. Roberts remains interested in pursuing the field in the future, as she is fascinated by the work. She is also grateful for what the field has done for her, namely making her more aware of the community at large and making her a more civil-minded person.
Avid of participating in philanthropic efforts outside of The Joy Culture Foundation, Ms. Roberts has been aligned with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula in Menlo Park since 2020 as a member of the Project Santa committee. She is active with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in San Francisco as a board member. Among other contributions, Ms. Roberts is actively involved by volunteering her time at her children's school.
Ms. Roberts received a bachelor's degree in theater and journalism. In light of her contributions to the community, Ms. Roberts received a Certificate of Recognition from a local congresswoman in San Francisco.
