She authored a memoir titled "On a Personal Note...: The World of Ballet and Beyond Through the Eyes of a Dancer, Teacher, and Educator."
VANCOUVER, BC, January 12, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Eva Draw has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Leveraging more than four decades of excellence in education, dance and choreography, Ms. Draw has earned distinction as a leading professor in her field. In this capacity, she was an associate professor at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts for 7 years. She currently resides in Vancouver, BC where she is a Senior Ballet Instructor and Student Educator for the Got Ballet Academy. Since 2015, she has focused her efforts on teaching and working with young and aspiring dancers. Among her professional accomplishments as an educator, she was honored with an Excellence in Teaching Award from the University of North Carolina in 2021.
Ms. Draw began her career as a senior ballet teacher and student advisor with Canada's National Ballet School in 1995. In 2009, she became a Ballet Mistress & Company and school teacher for the Royal Danish Ballet in Copenhagen, Denmark. She was invited to this role by Nicolaj Hubbe, the director of the Royal Danish Ballet, with whom she also staged a full production of "La Bayadère" in 2012. Additionally, she authored a memoir titled "On a Personal Note...: The World of Ballet and Beyond Through the Eyes of a Dancer, Teacher, and Educator" and contributed to a 2022 episode of "Art of Quality and Duality."
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Draw graduated from the Moscow State Academy of Choreography's Bolshoi Ballet Academy in 1979. That year, she joined the Moscow Stanislavsky Ballet Theatre and was promoted to principal dancer in 1981. She then earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in pedagogy and choreography from the State University of Theatrical Arts in Moscow, Russia.
Looking to the future, Ms. Draw intends to expand her academic knowledge, as being a ballet dancer has always come naturally to her and she wants to pass that affinity on to her students. She encourages any young dancer to remain passionate about what they do, examine themselves closely and determine whether they are performing for others or for themselves.
