Ms. Stonbraker takes the most pride in training and teaching programs at the different churches she and her husband, a United Methodist Pastor, have served.
DADEVILLE, AL, January 17, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jane G. Stonbraker has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Backed by years of professional expertise, Ms. Stonbraker most recently served as an academic advising coordinator. Previously, she worked as a community college professor for the Alabama State Community College System's Northwest-Shoals Community College. Over the years, she has also gained valuable expertise as an educator with Northeast Community College, Chattahoochee Community College, Northwest Junior College, and as a graduate teaching assistant for the Mississippi State University for Women. Outside of her work, Ms. Stonbraker contributes to her community through her church where she has served as a treasurer and the church worship chairperson, lay speaker and District Lay Leader, as well as teaching classes in Lay Speaking. She has served as pianist for various churches for over forty years, and directed both handbell and handchime choirs as well as the Church Choir. She has also served as the Youth Leader for several years.
In order to remain abreast of changes in the field, Ms. Stonbraker aligns herself with the Alabama Education Association, National Educators Association and the Association of Retired Teachers. Previously she served as the president of the Alabama College Association. An expert in her field, she studied at Northwest State Junior College and Jacksonville State University. Subsequently, she completed a Bachelor of Science in Education from Jacksonville State University with a major in Biological Sciences and Education and a Master of Science in Biological Sciences from Mississippi State University for Women where she was a graduate teaching assistant. Her special project while there was work with her major professor on chromosomes of a plant species and its chromosomes in proving whether or not it was a new species discovered by her professor.
While her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Stonbraker takes the most pride in training and teaching programs at the different churches she and her husband, a United Methodist Pastor, have served including one of the first classes to institute a program called "Christian Believer" in their Conference.She also takes pride in the influence she has had on her students' careers as evidenced by the success many have had in related areas and on remarks students have made to her years after they have graduated and entered the workforce. In the years to come, Mrs. Stonbraker intends to enjoy her retirement with her husband, enjoying all those grandchildren and pursuing a lifelong hobby of deer and turkey hunting and enjoying the outdoors as well as gardening.
