MEDIA, PA, January 18, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mary Lou Patton MD, FACS, FCCM, FSSO, FICS, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Leveraging more than four decades of excellence in surgery, Dr. Patton has earned distinction as a leader in her field. In this capacity, she is the emeritus director of the burn center of Crozer Health. Since 2022, she has focused her efforts on helping patients receiving burn treatment, including providing daily burn care, counseling and rehabilitation. Additionally, to her surgical board she has her examination of Surgical Critical Care.
Prior to her current role, Dr. Patton worked at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital as a RN, and attended Columbia University, including a year at La Sorbonne. She attended medical school at Medical College of Ohio at Toledo, and she attended the University of Iowa for her surgical residency. She then served as the Crozer director for the breast program and maintained National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers as well as director of the Nathan Speare Bum Treatment Center and National American Burn Association Verification. There are less than 100 designated as such in the US.
Over the course of her career, she has contributed 55 published papers to her field and was featured in an article alongside her husband in The Hillsboro, Ohio Times-Gazette in 2022. She has presented numerous papers of her research at the international, national and state level, earning her recognition for her expertise. She was also admitted as a fellow to the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Society of Surgical Oncology (FSSO), International College of Surgery (FICS) and Society of Critical Care Medicine (FSSO). She was in a private practice for over 30 years and was the president during those years.
Within the coming years, Dr. Patton intends to utilize her expertise to give back to her community, helping provide medical care to people who are having difficulty getting access. She and her husband also own and operates her family farm that has been in her family for five generations.
