Drawing on more than 20 years in the financial services industry, Mr. Jastrem is recognized for his successes as director of financial planning for Heritage Financial Services, LLC, a wealth management firm with clients across the country. In this role, he develops best practices to ensure that all clients receive the best advice to fit their financial goals and needs, and he analyzes and develops advanced planning strategies around income tax, estate tax, charitable giving, and multigenerational wealth. As a partner with the company, Mr. Jastrem is available for every client to ensure that they each receive the best guidance and have the best client experience. Prior to joining Heritage Financial Services in 2007, Mr. Jastrem held positions as an officer with J.P. Morgan Chase, as account supervisor with Investors Bank & Trust Co. and in global marketing for Brown Brothers Harriman.
Mr. Jastrem was born to a certified public accountant and a public-school teacher. Early in his student life, he exhibited a fascination with law, economics and international government, and he took an early interest in classic investment texts. After graduating from Mansfield High School in 1998, he enrolled at Colby College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in government, with a minor in psychology and business, in 2002. During his undergraduate studies, he completed coursework in foreign affairs and congressional policymaking at Boston University Washington Center. He later obtained a certificate in financial planning from the Boston University Center for Professional Education and a Master of Science in personal financial planning from the College for Financial Planning.
To remain at the cutting edge of his field, Mr. Jastrem has attained numerous credentials and certifications. He is a continuing education provider, authorized by the CFP Board, is certified in Long-Term Care by the Corporation for Long-Term Care Certification, and is a Chartered Financial Consultant certified by The American College. In addition, he has been granted designations as a Certified Financial Planner Professional by the CFP Board, a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor by the College for Financial Planning, and an Accredited Wealth Management Advisor Professional by the College for Financial Planning. As an ongoing commitment to his profession, he is an active member of the Financial Planning Association.
Outside of work, Mr. Jastrem enjoys spending time with his son, being outdoors, and learning about plants and animals. A volunteer in his local community, he is active with 3rd Decade, a nonprofit organization that serves people in their third decade of life with a focus on increasing their personal financial knowledge. Previously, he served as a board member with the Canton Conservation Commission and volunteered at CFP Board to help write and edit CFP exam questions.
