Dr. Kondic currently works as the pharmacometrics lead for oncology, hematology and cell based therapies at Bristol Myers Squibb, having previously served as the executive director of quantitative sciences at Nektar Therapeutics, an advisor with AdvisoryCloud and the vice president of Decision Analytics at Certara. She started out as a research assistant professor at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, going on to become an associate director and scientific coordinator of modeling platforms and disease models at Novartis AG and an independent consultant with Koneksa Health. Demonstrating professional acumen, she has likewise worked with Merck as a modeling and simulation scientist, a CV lead and oncology TA lead in quantitative pharmacology and pharmacometrics, an executive director in predictive economic modeling and a distinguished scientist of economic and data sciences. Dr. Kondic is a member of the International Society of Pharmacometrics and has authored 50 peer-reviewed publications.
After earning a Bachelor of Science in mathematics with a minor in computer science from Denison University in 1992, Dr. Kondic achieved a PhD in mathematics from Duke University in 1998. She went on to study computational toxicology at the Chemical Industry Institute of Toxicology and earn a Master of Business Administration in General Management and Negotiations from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University in 2008; the latter of which she cites as fundamental to her success. Now a celebrated member of her industry, she decided to pursue it due to her mother's intellectual support and her father and grandfather's academic backgrounds. She was also influenced by her mother's struggle with cancer; Dr. Kondic is now pursuing applications of mathematics in the life sciences as a result. Inspired by experiences working with formative mentors early in her career, as well as her personal sense of compassion, Dr. Kondic is happy with the opportunity to be a mentor herself.
Passionate about contributing to biotechnological and biopharmaceutical companies, Dr. Kondic is especially notable for her contributions to the development of pembrolizumab, an antibody used in immunotherapy for cancer where the dose selection and label were heavily informed by methods. She also takes pride in having raised her twin children, as well as having reached success as a competitive artistic swimmer. Looking forward, Dr. Kondic plans to continue to contribute to her current company as a drug developer. She also hopes to pursue a flexible work environment in academia or consultancy.
