MARIETTA, GA, January 23, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jennifer N. Lackland has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Driven by a passion for the arts, Ms. Lackland presently serves as a national associate member at the Smithsonian. In addition to setting up images for online art gallery exhibits, she performs basic administrative work, attends Zoom meetings, and takes and edits photographs. Additionally, she is a freelance visual and digital artist, having created such works as "Emergence, Resurgence," "Impregnable Direction" and "New Power Generation: Georgia." Previously, she participated in exhibitions with various art organizations, including the Harriet Tubman Museum & Educational Center and Small Works Nexus Gallery. During the early stages of her career, Ms. Lackland gained valuable expertise in the field with the Modern Art Foundry and the Inferno Art Foundry.
Alongside her work, Ms. Lackland has donated flowers to the National Sculpture Society and volunteered as a technical support assistant to a professor at two schools in Poland. In order to remain abreast of changes in the field, she aligns herself with several organizations through the International Sculpture Center, See Me Gallery, Atlanta Photography Group, and The Louvre Museum in France. An expert in her field, she holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in visual art with an emphasis in sculpture and foundry from Atlanta College of Art. Subsequently, Ms. Lackland expanded upon her knowledge by attending the Master of Fine Arts in sculpture metallurgy program at Southern Illinois University, studying bronze sculpting is Tuscany, Italy, and pursuing postgraduate studies in Cortona, Italy.
Throughout her career, Ms. Lackland has exhibited her works at the International Sculpture Center, Rush Art Galleries in New York, The Curator's Tea, and more. Similarly, she has attended various symposia and conferences through the International Sculpture Center. Due to her considerable expertise, she has also been commissioned to create art for the Fulton County Arts Council and the Southwest Performing Arts Center in Atlanta. In light of her outstanding body of work, Ms. Lackland received an honorable mention through the Art of Recycling Exhibition at City Hall in 1995, the Sims Award from Congressman John R. Lewis, the Dr. Viktor Lowenfeld Sculpture Award from Hampton University Museum, and the Gillespie Award from the African American Museum of Dallas, which was a career highlight.
While her career has been filled with standout moments, Ms. Lackland is most proud of receiving numerous awards for her work, including her pieces "Lilith" and "Conjure a Restless Night." The cornerstone of her success lay in her perseverance, patience, tenacity, and open-minded nature. In the coming years, Ms. Lackland aims to open a gallery to showcase all of her work and the pieces she has collected over the years.
