Mr. Hu is a thought leader in M&A. After obtaining his J.D. from Cornell Law School (where he graduated 5th in his class), Mr. Hu began his legal career in New York at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in 2012, where he focused on public company mergers. He then moved to Kirkland & Ellis LLP in New York and was a partner from 2018 to 2021, where he focused on a mix of private equity transactions and public company mergers.
Mr. Hu's pro bono practice includes work for Water for People, an organization based in Colorado, to provide clean water solutions in India, and One Tenet Health, a not-for-profit organization based in the D.C. As a first generation immigrant and native mandarin speaker, Mr. Hu moved to the U.S. in his early twenties after earning his LL.B. from Nanjing University in China and completing a stint at Paul Hastings LLP in Shanghai. With his unique experience and perspective on diversity & inclusion, he regularly provides career counseling to young professionals with a diverse background, helping them to advance in their own careers.
