Hailing from an extensive background in government contracting, Ms. Byron previously found success at Homeland Security Solutions Inc., an employee-owned corporation that functions as a training, technology and professional services company on behalf of law enforcement and security organizations worldwide. Initially joining the company in 2006 as the vice president of finance, she went on to serve as the chief financial officer in 2015 prior to her departure in 2017.
Previously, Ms. Byron had maintained involvement with a number of different organizations, including as an accounting manager for the Lawson Companies, a real estate firm, from 2004 until 2006, as the director of operations for accounting at ValueOptions Inc., a health and wellness company, between 1996 and 2002, and as a financial services manager at Beverly Enterprises from 1988 to 1995. Outside of her work in the private sector, Ms. Byron also served as the chief financial officer at the LGBT Life Center, a nonprofit group based in Hampton Roads, Virginia, which seeks to improve health and wellness within the local LGBTQ community.
Before venturing onto her professional journey, Ms. Byron studied at James Madison University, from which she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting in 1988. Eminently qualified in her field, she was registered as a certified public accountant through the Virginia Board of Accountancy in 2000.
Outside of her vocational circles, Ms. Byron enjoys such pastimes as reading on the beach, playing with her dogs, and enjoying quality time spent with her extended family in Virginia and Kentucky.
