Well-regarded for her expertise for her specialization in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Chesin serves as a physician with Womancare Associates, a group practice at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). Bearing a particular focus on women's health, the clinic is devoted to caring for patients of all ages. Dr. Chesin is also notably affiliated with UPMC Passavant, UPMC East, and UPMC Magee-Women's Hospital.
Prior to her tenure with UPMC, Dr. Chesin worked as a clinical assistant professor in the department of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive services at the University of Pittsburgh. She also spent five years with Blue Cross Blue Shield, 10 years in private practice, and three years as a physician employee for another practice. Additionally, Dr. Chesin functioned as an intermediate unit IV teacher for learning-disabled children.
Though she originally planned to specialize in pediatric neurology and establish her own clinic, Dr. Chesin eventually resolved to change her specialty and steered her career ambitions accordingly. To prepare for her career in medicine, she achieved a Bachelor of Arts in education, a Master of Arts in special education, and a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Health System. She subsequently completed a residency at Western Pennsylvania Hospital and became board certified in obstetrics and gynecology through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
As a part of her civic commitments, Dr. Chesin has served on the board of directors for a local women's shelter since 2007.
Dr. Chesin is recognized as a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She has also been honored for her achievements as a Top Obstetrician and Gynecologist by the UPMC.
