Drawing on over three decades of diverse expertise, Ms. Kolpack specializes in communications and government affairs. Since 2022, she has found much success as the city commissioner for The City of Fargo. In this capacity, Ms. Kolpack is responsible for attending meetings with constituents, staff and department heads, in addition to managing the arts and culture, the Fargo youth initiative, and the metro area transit. In addition, she serves as department liaison to the communications, fire and utilities departments, including the wastewater, the water treatment and the solid waste divisions.
Ms. Kolpack initially began her vocation serving as advertising manager for the North Dakota Newspaper Association in 1988. She later moved over to Kranzler Kingsley advertising agency as an account representative from 1991 to 1992. She was later active as an executive director at the North Dakota Water Coalition, and the North Dakota Newspaper Association, followed by a post as a campaign manager for the United States governor candidate, Senator Heidi Heitkamp. Between 2000 and 2006, Ms. Kolpack garnered expertise as a marketing director at United Blood Services, and then continued her career in a similar capacity as the senior vice president of brand and marketing communications at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota from 2006 until retiring in 2022.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Kolpack pursued an education at the University of North Dakota, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in marketing and political science in 1988. As a commitment to her field, she has been certified as a toastmaster via Toastmasters International and a six-sigma green belt via the Six Sigma Global Institute. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Ms. Kolpack has been active with the United Way of Cass Clay and the Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development Corporation.
Well regarded for her contributions to the field, Ms. Kolpack has received multiple awards, including the Silver Anvil Award for Brand Reputation Management from the Public Relations Society of America. Among her professional accomplishments, she is most proud of her accolades and to have repaired the Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota brand during the company's difficult public relations crisis. Reflecting on a long career, she attributes much of her success to her passion for helping people and to supporting various initiatives and organizations with both her time and money.
