Prior to her current role, Ms. Watkins-Washington served as a mental health provider with a mental health rehabilitation agency and was a mental health counselor for Child Protection for a year. Prior to embarking on her professional journey, she earned a bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University. She then attained a master's degree in mental health counseling from Southern University and A&M College. Well-qualified in her field, she is a National Board Certified Counselor and School Counselor.
Among her professional accomplishments, Ms. Watkins-Washington is proud to have created a RAMP-Recognized American School Counselor Association Model Program for Woodlawn Middle School. She was also named School Counselor of the Year for her dedicated work. Additionally, she is a valued member of the American School Counselor Association and previously served as the president for the Louisiana School Counselor Association.
