BOWIE, MD, January 30, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Charles W. Jackson III has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Drawing on 17 years of experience in electrical engineering, Mr. Jackson is recognized for excellence in the field. This month, he begins a new position as electrical department lead for CMTA, a multi-services corporation and national leader for delivering high-performance, sustainable projects, where he looks forward to collaborating with electrical engineers to influence designs and make better buildings. As recognition of the significant impact he is having on his profession, he was recently named to the 40 Under 40 list by Consulting-Specifying Engineer.
Prior to joining CMTA, Mr. Jackson served as senior construction engineer for Cornerstone Concilium, Inc., an engineering consultancy, and commissioning team manager for Sustainable Building Partners, LLC. Previously, he held positions with Chinook Systems, Inc., CCG Facilities Integration Incorporated, Franklin Electric Company and other respected institutions. Among his most memorable jobs was one he received in 2007 when he got a phone call from the Pentagon Renovation Program with an opportunity to do commissioning. While he knew little about commissioning at the time, he jumped at the chance to work with the Pentagon and ended up thriving in the role.
Mr. Jackson's success in the field is born of his academic journey. He began his studies at West Catholic Preparatory High School, graduating with a diploma in 2000. He went on to attend Drexel University, earning a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, power systems and business administration in 2005. To ensure that he remains on the cutting edge of his profession, he has sought multiple professional development opportunities, obtaining certifications as a Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA), and LEED AP® Building Design + Construction.
Of his many professional achievements, Mr. Jackson is especially proud of joining the board of directors for AABC Commissioning Group (ACG), a nonprofit association dedicated to the advancement of independent third-party commissioning professionals; he also recorded a podcast for ACG, a notable feat for Mr. Jackson because it put him outside his comfort zone. In addition, he is extremely proud of receiving his Professional Engineer License; while it took him several tries to pass the test, he remained steadfast and never gave up, which he considers one of his most valuable strengths. In the future, he hopes to inspire this same level of passion in the next generation of engineers and to inspire more minorities to enter the commissioning and engineering fields.
