In this capacity, he has overall responsibility for more than 50 employees across the Information Technology, Health Information Management and Security departments. Prior to this role, Mr. Schrier was active as an adjunct faculty member at Upper Iowa University where he instructed health administrative services and management information systems (MIS) courses.
Mr. Schrier initially began his career in telecommunications by working at his hometown telephone company as their Plant Manager. Following this post, he garnered expertise as an Information Technology Manager at the Adair County Memorial Hospital from 2015 to 2016. Between 2016 and 2019, Mr. Schrier contributed to the Van Diest Medical Center as an Information Systems Director and the Compliance, HIPAA Privacy and Security Officer.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Schrier pursued an education at the Des Moines Area Community College, where he obtained an Associate of Science in telecommunications management. He continued his academic efforts at Upper Iowa University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration in 2017, followed by a Master of Business Administration in organizational development in 2018. Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Mr. Schrier contributes to the County of Door, the Crossroads at Big Creek Inc. and the Gibraltar Area Schools as a committee and a board member.
Well regarded for his achievements in the field, Mr. Schrier has been nominated for a Wisconsin CIO of the Year ORBIE Award. Among his professional accomplishments, he is most proud of his accomplishments and contributions at Door County Medical Center, which has been recognized as one of the digitally most wired hospitals in the United States and ranked at the KLAS 98th percentile as one of the best IT-delivered health organizations. Reflecting on his career, he attributes much of his success to rural upbringing where an emphasis was placed on integrity and giving back to his communities.
