LADERA RANCH, CA, January 31, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rachel Whitney Daringer has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Drawing on more than two decades of expertise in research, Ms. Daringer is recognized for excellence as an oncology information scientist at NeoGenomics Laboratories, a clinical laboratory, pharmaceutical services and information services company that specializes in cancer genetics diagnostic testing. In this position, she is responsible for analyzing professional guidelines for cancer, reviewing scientific literature for various cancers and the genes associated with them, and ensuring company databases are completed with current information. This detail-oriented work is vital to the research process in the development of cancer therapies.
Prior to joining NeoGenomics Laboratories in 2019, Ms. Daringer served as a clinical administrator and genetic specialist for Ambry Genetics and a clinical research project assistant for Paragon Biomedical. Earlier in her career, she was an assistant store manager for Starbucks, a clinical research assistant for the Children's Hospital Colorado, and a teacher for Sonshine Center. She holds a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry, chemistry and molecular biology from Colorado State University.
While she initially planned to attend medical school, Ms. Daringer suffered a hemorrhagic stroke at the age of 24 that required brain surgery and made her unable to perform clinical work. However, she quickly pivoted and found that she could make a profound difference in people's lives through research and treatment development. Calm under pressure, she attributes her success to her ability to thrive in challenging circumstances; she also loves learning and problem solving, which makes her well suited for her career in genetics and cancer. Outside of work, Ms. Daringer is a volunteer with several medical nonprofits, including HHT Foundation International, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, HAE International, Mauli Ola Foundation and Lynch Syndrome International.
