He has helped stakeholders design projects to meet the needs determined by the program and create programs to fill those gaps, from durable equipment and consumable supplies to creating new staffing plans. While with the World Health Organization, Dr. Sameer has managed several multimillion-dollar grants for providing essential care, managing referrals, and mitigating communicable diseases in refugee camps.
Early in his career, Dr. Sameer served as a Clinical Review Coordinator for New York State Cardiac Surgery and PCI Registry, which involved collecting and analyzing data from more than 60 cardiac surgery centers throughout the state. He is proud to report that he has never encountered a data leak or other privacy concern at any point in his career, despite managing tens of thousands of records. Dr. Sameer has been published throughout his career in journals including the Journal of Medicine, Conflict, and Survival, and peer reviewed articles for publications at Sultan Qaboos University Medical Journal. He has also contributed to publishing annual Adult Cardiac Surgery and PCI Reports in New York State.
Dr. Sameer holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Mosul University and earned a Master of Public Health at the University of Liverpool in 2012. He has completed continuing education including a professional diploma in health emergencies in large populations through the University of Pretoria in South Africa and multiple other trainings around the world.
