Ms. Padula initially began her career working as a nurse technician in the postpartum unit at the Lexington Medical Center in 1976.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Padula pursued an education at the University of South Carolina, where she earned an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1977. As a commitment to her field, she has been licensed as a registered nurse and certified in obstetrics via the Nurses' Association of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in 1988. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Ms. Padula visits and delivers "Picnics by Pam" to friends and family (her own version of Meals on Wheels) and is also currently working at a Covid vaccine clinic.
Throughout the course of her vocation, Ms. Padula has garnered several awards, including the prestigious Palmetto Gold Award for her distinction in nursing from the South Carolina Nurses Foundation Inc. in 2002, as well as multiple Awards of Excellence and Employee of the Year awards. Among her professional accomplishments, she draws immense gratification from welcoming thousands of babies into the world. She is especially proud of delivering second-generation infants and of mentoring hundreds of nurses, many of whom aspired to emulate her.
