Leveraging more than two decades of excellence in professional fundraising and consulting, Ms. Alhassan has earned distinction as the leader and CEO of ResearchPRO. Since launching this firm in 2017, she has focused her efforts on working with leaders of non-profit organizations across the United States to identify qualified donors for multi-million dollar fundraising campaigns. She also provides prospect management services to help build infrastructure and systems to support the donor cultivation cycle. Additionally, she has been an activator for Coralus since 2022 and serves as Faculty for Apra Fundamentals.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Alhassan began her career as a membership director for the Ohio Historical Society in 2000 and became the assistant director of donor relations for The Columbus Urban League in 2003. She then was the associate director of the Urban Cultural Arts Foundation in 2006, also serving as the co-founder and partner of The CHANGE Agency. During this time, she additionally served as the principal and chief executive officer of Afire Enterprises LLC from 2004 to 2011 and was a research consultant for The Ohio State University from 2005 to 2016.
Ms. Alhassan continued her career, leading volunteer and community engagement for Cristo Rey Columbus High School in 2016 and subsequently was a development data and research specialist with the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens from 2017 to 2019. Prior to embarking on her professional journey, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from Ohio State University in 2000.
Also dedicated to leadership and advocacy, Ms. Alhassan has been the secretary for the Association of Fundraising Professionals' Central Ohio Chapter. She has also previously served as the president of the Ohio Prospect Research Network, a board member of the Ethiopian Tewahedo Social Services, and a board trustee with the Columbus Metropolitan Library Friends of the Library. Additionally, she was the treasurer of Ohio State University's Ray Miller Institute for Change and Leadership Alumni Association, a trustee with the Greater Linden Development Corporation and served as a publicly elected commissioner for the South Linden Area Commission.
Among her professional accomplishments, Ms. Alhassan is proud to have been inducted into the Hall of Fame by the 20TWENTY200 Project and was honored by Columbus City Schools with the Charles E. Tennant Emerging Leader in Community Outreach and Development. A 2019 TEDxKing-Lincoln Bronzeville speaker, she was also named a Top 20 Presenter for iWave in 2020. Looking to her future achievements, Ms. Alhassan intends to develop a business model that allows her to share the science of fundraising and amplify best practices while also creating space for her to pursue her passion for shifting paradigms.
