Leveraging more than three decades of excellence in aerospace and military service, Mr. Cleveland has earned distinction as a deputy appraiser in the residential department of the Okaloosa County Property Appraiser. Since 2014, he has focused his efforts on conducting home site visits to inspect new construction, remodeling, additions, demolitions or other changes to features of a property that would change its value. Additionally, he is a valued member of the citizens' advisory committee of the Okaloosa-Walton Transportation Planning Organization.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Cleveland served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1973 to 2003. He became a senior product improvement manager for the chief logistics test manager and quality officer in 1991 with the Air Force Special Operations Command and then was a senior logistician and quality advisor in 1994. He became a senior maintenance operations manager in 1996 and an executive logistician and quality instructor in 1997 also for the Air Force Special Operations Command. He continued his military career as an executive human resources and organization consultant in 1998 at the Headquarters Space and Missile Systems Center until taking a role as an executive quality manager in 2001 at the Air Force Flight Test Center. He subsequently was an executive maintenance manager also with the Air Force Flight Test Center in 2002. Owing to his military service, he is a life member of the Air Commando Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, Air Force Sergeants Association and Air and Space Forces Association.
Following his military service, Mr. Cleveland was a project manager for Crestview Aerospace in 2004 for an Air Force Special Operations Command aircraft project and became a program manager, alternative facility security officer and human resources representative for Cygnus Aerospace Inc. later that year. In 2010, he was promoted to the manager of quality, safety and security and served as a human resources representative for the same company. Also dedicated to civil advocacy, Mr. Cleveland volunteered with his local church's Sunday school for 12 years and he was also a Deacon and Trustee for St. Paul Lutheran Church and School.
During his professional journey, Mr. Cleveland completed coursework in system acquisition management from the Air Force Institute of Technology at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in 1988. He then studied test and evaluation management at the Defense Senior Management College in Fort Belvoir, Virginia in 1996. He earned an Associate of Applied Science in maintenance production management at the Community College of the Air Force in 1993 and then an Associate of Science in general education from Troy University in 1995. Well-qualified in his field, he holds numerous professional certifications, including in aerospace management, aircraft mishap investigation and as a quality Air Force awareness instructor.
