Looking toward the future of his career, Mr. Cohen aims to become more involved in theater. He has appeared in several musical productions, including "Ruthless! The Musical" at the Actors' Playhouse at The Miracle Theatre in Coral Gables, Florida. Mr. Cohen was also a judge in the Actors' Playhouse/The Children's Trust's Annual Young Talent Big Dreams talent competition.
In January 2023, Mr. Cohen was hired as a part-time lecturer in the Department of Journalism and Media Management at the University of Miami School of Communication.
Actively involved with various nonprofit and charitable organizations and events, Mr. Cohen traditionally writes stories for the Miami Herald and el Nuevo Herald's annual Wish Book, a holiday fundraising drive supported by Miami Herald Charities that assists South Florida residents in need. For years, Mr. Cohen has judged the Music category for the Miami Herald Silver Knight Awards, a program that, for more than 60 years, honors Miami-Dade and Broward's best and brightest high school seniors. He is a presenter at the live Silver Knights ceremony and writes the scripts for its television broadcast. He also donates to the Alzheimer's Association.
Mr. Cohen studied at Miami Dade College where he earned an Associate of Arts in management information systems. He subsequently received a bachelor's degree in the same field at Florida International University.
As part of his commitments to the industry, Mr. Cohen is a professional member of One Herald Guild. In light of his accomplishments, he was named Best Printer Writer with a Media Excellence Award from Christopher Columbus High School in 2017. Mr. Cohen was also the winner of an Obituary Writing Award from the Society of Professional Journalists in 2022.
