FRANKLIN, MA, February 06, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to honor Bradford R. Steinka with inclusion in Who's Who in the World. An accomplished listee, Mr. Steinka celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Now retired after 40 years in the industry, Mr. Steinka was an expert in computer science who spent the last five years of his career with Nokia in Westford, Massachusetts, until 2021. As the senior director, digital core signaling and media PLM leader, and head of signaling and policy PLM, he was responsible for a portion of the organization's 5G product portfolio, which included its policy server product line, authentication server product line, and signaling product line with full profit and loss responsibility for this portfolio. During his career with the organization, Mr. Steinka also became recognized for his contributions to having Nokia's session border controller become ranked as number two in the carrier market.
Mr. Steinka began his career in 1981 as a software engineer at Codex Corporation (Motorola Codex). When Mr. Steinka joined Lucent in late 2004, he became frustrated with the decisions being made regarding product direction, roadmaps, and customer satisfaction. Mr. Steinka transitioned into product management, where he was able to successfully take control of all aspects of feature definition, as well as the roadmaps, budget, and profitability. His years as a software engineer, engineering manager and a stint in professional services sets Mr. Steinka apart from his product management peers. His ability to relay customer requirements, service requirements, and maintenance requirements succinctly and accurately to engineering have led to high marks from development organizations. Working with customers and sales engineers to prioritize features and technical requirements to meet the business needs of customers and corporate objectives has enabled both his customers and his corporation to achieve revenue objectives. Years of experience in product life cycle management have enabled Mr. Steinka to recognize when R&D operating budgets and head counts need to increase, decrease or be rebalanced based on where products are in their respective life cycles to maximize profitability. The honesty and integrity in all facets of communication with customers and the corporation has been praised by many and which Mr. Steinka takes great personal pride.
After resigning from Codex, Mr. Steinka notably spent 10 years with Microcom Inc. as a senior software engineer, manager of LAN/ISDN software, manager of LAN access software development, and director of network products development. He was subsequently hired by COMPAQ Computer Corporation as the director of central site software engineering from 1996 to 1999 and by Nortel Networks as the director of CVX-1800 software development between 1999 and 2000. Mr. Steinka also spent 9 years with Acatel-Lucent Technologies through which he ultimately earned the role of senior director from 2013 to 2016.
Among Mr. Steinka's many professional accomplishments, he secured four U.S. patents in his field between 1988 and 1997, all of which provided significant value to his employers. Looking toward the future, he aims to provide a substantial gift to his former high school so that students can have opportunities to attend advanced educational institutions and pursue careers in computer science and electrical engineering. Mr. Steinka also aspires to give back to his local community and provide affordable housing to those in need through his affiliation with the local Massachusetts chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
A graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Mr. Steinka received a Bachelor of Science in computer science in 1981.
