Leveraging more than two decades of excellence in television media, Ms. Valentín has earned distinction as a television host, actress, performance artist and producer with La Reina Del Barrio, Inc. and Bronxnet TV. She is also the creative director for Open Friday. For the past 20 years, she has focused her efforts on advocating arts, culture, entertainment, women empowerment, mental health awareness and domestic violence awareness through her platform. She enjoys highlighting essential aspects of existence as a writer and producer. Additionally, she serves on the board of directors for the Bronx Council on the Arts.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Valentín was the host and creative producer for Bronxnet and Open Friday. Well-qualified in her field, she gained a master's in the Meisner technique from the William Esper Studio Inc. The first Latina to be recognized as the Creative New Yorker for New York, she was featured on AM New York and received a proclamation from Senator Gustavo Rivera in 2011 for being an iconic and integral part of the culture in the Bronx. In 2009, she also received a proclamation from Mayor Bloomberg's Administration for a show that she produced and for co-starring in a theatrical production titled "Death of a Dream."
Among her other professional accomplishments, Ms. Valentín was honored with the 25 Bronx Influential Women of 2015 Award and was named Woman of the Day the same year. She also received a Change Maker Award from Color Magazine in 2020, a Latin Impact Award from Schneps Media in 2022 and was named a Creative New Yorker in 2021. Additionally, she is a valued member of the East Harlem Community Alliance and the New York Women in Film and Television.
Within the coming years, Ms. Valentín intends to design her own television shows and house them in a studio to advocate for East Harlem. Her goal is to uplift and stimulate the economy in East Harlem by having a television show that is produced locally.
