Leveraging more than three decades of excellence in healthcare, Ms. Groth has earned distinction in respiratory therapy. In this capacity, she is a registered respiratory therapist with Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. Since 2013, she has focused her efforts on providing respiratory care to patients in different hospital departments, including the emergency department and intensive care unit. She also mentors nursing students who come through the hospital. Additionally, she has been a respiratory therapist with Falmouth Hospital since 2004 and is a valued member of both the American Association for Respiratory Care and the Michigan Society for Respiratory Care.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Groth began her career as a group leader for Bi-County Community Hospital in 1981 until becoming a registered respiratory therapist with Beaumont Hospital from 2002 to 2003. During this time, she also worked with St. John Oakland Hospital from 1999 to 2004. Also dedicated to civil advocacy, she volunteers her expertise for the American Lung Association.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Groth earned an Associate of Applied Science in respiratory care therapy from Macomb Community College in 1985. She then attained a Bachelor of Science in healthcare administration at the University of Detroit Mercy in 1993 and a Master of Management in Health Care from Cambridge College in 2010. Well-qualified in her field, she is a registered respiratory therapist. She also holds certifications in advanced cardiovascular life support, basic life support and neonatal resuscitation.
Within the coming years, Ms. Groth intends to retire when she turns 65 years old, retiring to a house in Saint Lucia she and her husband are currently building. She possesses a great deal of stamina and enthusiasm for her work, as well as a deep understanding that she will always have more to learn to better serve her patients.
