With over 23 years of experience in the industry, he has been recognized by Marquis Who's Who for his distinguished career. In his current role at Raytheon, Mr. Patel leads a team of engineers and is responsible for overseeing engineering projects at the Andover, Massachusetts location. He has been instrumental in advancing the company's capabilities in air warfare, missile defense, and sensor and effector design. He plays a critical role in ensuring that the engineering department adheres to building and design standards, and has been responsible for the design, build, and release of test systems that have been used to test critical hardware for Raytheon radars, including the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor.
Prior to joining Raytheon, Mr. Patel spent nearly 20 years at Ultra Electronics/Herley Industries, where he held the roles of principal electrical engineer and information systems security manager before being promoted to director of engineering. During his tenure at Ultra Electronics, he led a team of engineers and managed the development of various US Navy and security projects. Some of the products designed during his tenure are used in the EA-18G Growler, a carrier-based electronic warfare aircraft, and multiple critical hardware components for SEWIP Block 3, an upgrade to the AN/SLQ-32 electronic warfare system used to defend ships against anti-ship missiles.
Mr. Patel received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1999. He has received multiple recognitions from the Raytheon leadership team for his contributions to the company. He is also an active volunteer in the community and has served as co-chairperson of the American Heroes Invitational since 2013, which has raised over $150k to fund the Wounded Warrior Project, helping veterans and other charitable foundations. He was a board member of the New England Hemophilia Association between 2010 and 2017 and continues to help them raise multi-million dollars for the charity foundation through annual golf tournaments and charity walks. Additionally, he has been investing in real estate and retail businesses since 2003, and uses the additional income from these businesses to fund multiple charities through the Roy & Patel Charity Giving Fund held at Fidelity with his wife Sonali Roy.
