Leveraging more than two decades of excellence in social work, Ms. Penter has earned distinction as the leader of her private practice. In this capacity, she has been the owner, counselor and coach with her practice, Ignite, LLC, since 2011. She focuses her efforts on working with preteen and adult clients, performing crisis assessments, trauma recovery, support during major life transitions, and oversees medication recommendations with psychiatry professionals. Additionally, she is a valued member of the Oregon State Board of Licensed Social Workers.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Penter began her career as a co-program manager for ShelterCare in 2002 and then was an administrator and contributing editor for Integrated Research Services, Inc. in 2006. Following this time, she was a Master of Social Work intern with the Laurel Hill Center in 2011 and with Signature Services in 2012. She continued her career as an administrative assistant with Signature Services until becoming a medical social worker for PeaceHealth in 2013. Her time at PeaceHealth included working with interdisciplinary teams on the neurology and oncology floors in the acute hospital setting and then as the sole Care Manager in the inpatient rehabilitation center until 2020.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Penter earned a Bachelor of Social Work from Chatham University in 2001. She then attained a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2013. Well-qualified in her field, she is a licensed clinical social worker and more recently holds a training certification for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy and has done extensive research in grief and loss that comes from trauma. As a multiethnic individual Jasmine has also been able to utilize her study of the therapeutic process across several differing cultures. Her current emotional support animal therapists, Sully & Psy, are both part of her practice and they bring their own insights, care, and abilities.

As a black belt martial artist in Taekwondo and a long time soccer player Jasmine understands the need for physical well-being, mental wellness, and soul work. Within the coming years, Ms. Penter is planning to establish an office that includes an outdoor space to do a "walk and talk" style therapy. The hope is that this space could include room for graffiti, art, a place to use movement and voice so that every individual who wishes can have a safe space to release emotions however they see fit.
