SUWANEE, GA, February 15, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Terry Gatewood has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
A leader in the health and fitness field, Mr. Gatewood is distinguished for his success as a master personal trainer and entrepreneur. As founder, owner, and operator of Physique Refinements, LLC, he is known for developing customized training programs tailored to his clients, with a particular focus on serving the fitness needs of women and children. By meeting the unique needs of individuals who suffer from fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and other health issues, he helps his clients see results, meet goals, and build confidence. Of his professional achievements, Mr. Gatewood is especially proud of creating the Mini Muscles and 4th Quarter Sports Performance youth fitness programs and creating a comprehensive program of women's fitness classes, including MyGoodies, Body Blitz, and Ab-E Time.
Mr. Gatewood brings a background in the military to his physical fitness work. From 1976 to 1998, he was part of the U.S. Army, serving as a senior drill sergeant and a food service advisor during Operation Desert Storm. During his years in the military, Terry's passion for fitness emerged; he became a bodybuilder at the age of 42, receiving support from the army and winning several military bodybuilding competitions. In addition, he trained personnel and helped numerous colleagues break personal and military records. Upon leaving the service, he became head trainer at Powerhouse Gym and a certified personal trainer at BodyPlex Fitness Adventure. He was an integral part of several Atlanta Falcons athletes' strength, agility, and flexibility training from 1998 to 2002 and has coached youth soccer. He holds an Associate of Arts in business from the University of Texas.
A self-described "people person," Mr. Gatewood attributes his success to his desire to help others; whether serving his country or training clients to be healthy, his motivation is always to serve others. His natural ability to connect with people has helped him become a more effective personal trainer over the past 25 years, and his fondness for food and good nutrition – which was fostered by his late grandmother, Te Cora Gatewood - sparked his ongoing interest in health. Mr. Gatewood was raised by Te Cora Gatewood in the Over-The-Rhine neighborhood in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a devoted member of the St. Frances Catholic Church community, where she always poured a bit of her baking creativity into Terry, which later evolved into Terry's emergence as the best culinary artist in the United States Army. Taking these skills to the next level, he hopes to open additional gyms, a coffee shop, and a landscaping business. Outside of work, Mr. Gatewood enjoys spending time with his wife of 20 years, Penny Gatewood, and his six daughters, two sons, eight grandchildren, and two great granddaughters.
