Since February 2022, he has focused on his design of his newest intermodal chassis in efforts of providing a new line of chassis due to the shortage of equipment while also overseeing the business's and inspecting the trucks and chassis equipment to ensure they are repaired on time and can be safely used on the road. Additionally, he has been an agency West Contract division of Evans Truck of PA, a trucking company, since 2014.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Jarvis managed a fishing boat for a family business Harbor Shellfish in the 70's then moved to Charleston South Carolina in September 1989 and opened a trucking agency under Carolina National in 1996, which he headed until 2014. Among his professional accomplishments, he was a two-time recipient of a plaque of appreciation from Evans Group in recognition of being over the million-dollar sale mark, having generated more than $1 million in sales in 2020 and 2021.
Within the coming years, Mr. Jarvis intends to continue working in semi-retirement, spending more of his efforts on helping his son to grow his business while increasing his charitable support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. His son's friend Joseph Lanier has transitioned to operating KPM Intermodal Chassis LLC while his son Christian runs PJ Transport, LLC, a trucking company that transports containerized freight throughout the southeast. Accounting for his successes, he credits the drive he had for self-learning as well as the strong relationships he had with colleagues in the port and trucking industries, especially those he has worked with in South Carolina.
He has a daughter Kaitlin Brannon residing along with her spouse Kelsey Brannon and son Wyatt Brannon in Katy, TX and has a son Ryan Jarvis with his wife Emily Jarvis and daughter Aydan Jarvis in Murfreesboro, TN. He has an older brother Gregory Jarvis who lives in West Warwick, RI, he also has a younger brother Keith Jarvis who resides in East Greenwich, RI, and his younger sister Robin Calderon resides in North Kingstown, RI.
