Mr. Johnson also focuses on ensuring that his team members continually strengthen their skills and resources to accept increasingly challenging projects.
Prior to his appointment as a team leader, Mr. Johnson contributed as a lead visual designer for more than four years of his thirteen-year tenure at Garmin. He had previously thrived as a team leader for the data conversion division at the Department of Treasury Internal Revenue Service center in Kansas City, Missouri between 2004 and 2013 while concurrently earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Kansas City Art Institute in 2008. Alongside his responsibilities at Garmin, Mr. Johnson earned a Master of Science in Management from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2022.
In addition to the guidance of his previous professors and managers, Mr. Johnson attributes a great deal of his success to his passion for elevating the careers of his team members. He is extremely proud to have played a central role in the design of multiple versions of the Garmin Connect app, which is a tool for tracking, analyzing and sharing health and fitness activities from different Garmin devices. In the coming years, Mr. Johnson plans to pursue a position as a design department manager in order to widen his influence on future UX visual designers.
