Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Ahmed earned a Bachelor of Science in biomedical science with a minor in psychology from the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He then attained a Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York Downstate Health Sciences University in 2016. He underwent a residency in internal medicine at the Montefiore Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2019 and completed a fellowship in cardiology at Stony Brook University Hospital. Well-qualified in his field, he is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, echocardiography by the American Society of Echocardiography, nuclear cardiology by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology and vascular imaging by the Alliance for Physician Certification & Advancement.
Among his professional accomplishments, Dr. Ahmed was honored as a Medical Educator Pathway Graduate by the State University of New York Downstate Health Sciences University in 2016. He was also appointed an Outstanding Graduate Resident in Ambulatory Medicine by the Montefiore Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2019. Additionally, he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society by his peers for his stellar work in 2015.
