Leveraging more than four decades of excellence in equipment testing, Mr. Hunter has earned distinction as an operation manager for product compliance with Element Materials Technology. In this capacity, he focuses his efforts on managing the operations of the testing laboratory in Irvine, California as well as in Bloomington, Minnesota. They handle product safety testing for the medical and information technology industries, measurement, laboratory and control equipment applying safety certifications. Additionally, he was a valued member of the Product Safety Society and the Environmental Simulation Society.
Having started his career as a turbo machinery technician for Garrett Air Research in Los Angeles, California, Mr. Hunter worked in dynamometer testing until pursuing his education. Prior to embarking on his professional journey, he attended Pepperdine University and earned a Bachelor of Science in business management degree from California Coast University. Well-qualified in his field, he holds a project management certification from California State University Dominguez Hills. Among his professional accomplishments, he is proud to have received a Patriotic Employer Award from the Department of Defense.
For a short period of time, Mir. Hunter took a sabbatical from the testing world to pursue a career in auto racing. Starting in the highly competitive ranks of Formula Ford, moving professionally to the Formula Atlantic series in America and Canada, competing in the 24 hours of Daytona endurance race, and finally concluding with opportunities to qualify for the Indianapolis 500. Unfortunately lack of proper funding did not allow for qualifying attempts, ultimately ending a very promising career.
Within the coming years, Mr. Hunter is looking forward to his company expanding to locations in Hillsboro, Oregon; Plano, Texas; and potentially Denver, Colorado. His expertise lies in testing for environmental simulation, vibration, shock or other environmental factors that can simulate hazard or harm to a product and he has been managing laboratories for the past 20 years. He intends to continue his work in this field and plans to spend more time mentoring rising professionals in the field.
