Previously, he worked as the chief financial officer of AIDS Arms Inc. which does business as Prism Health North Texas. He was the first CFO and executive team member to provide strategic financial leadership to a growing organization with complex operations. During the initial stages of his career, Mr. Kouame gained valuable expertise in the field of grants management as a grants manager, program monitor, and grants analyst for Dallas County.
An expert in his field, Mr. Kouame earned an MBA in financial management from St. Mary's University in 1983. Driven to remain competitive with relevant background and training in the field, he became a certified public accountant (CPA). He holds an active CPA license from the State of Texas. Similarly, he served as a board chair of AIT and a board member of Ryan White Clinics for 340B Access and Mosaic Family Services. In light of his outstanding body of work, Mr. Kouame was a finalist of the Dallas Business Journal CFO awards in 2015 and 2022.
While his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Kouame takes the most pride in being one of the leadership members who steered the tremendous growth in staff census and the budget of AIDS Arms, Inc. When he started with the company, there were about 30 employees and the budget was less than $3 million. In 2022, the company boasted a $125 million budget and more than 230 employees. The cornerstone of his success lay in his drive to improve himself and remain open to new learning opportunities. Mr. Kouame retired as CFO of Prism Health North Texas in 2022 with notable expertise in grants management, revenue cycle management, and 340B. In the coming years, Mr. Kouame intends to become a consultant for the federal government and expand Annan Gaman, LLC.
