Mr. Burnett is a digital forensic investigator for Dell Technologies, where he brings extensive expertise in cybersecurity engineering and architecture. Since 2021, he has managed device and information forensics and security for Dell corporate-owned devices, including employees exiting the company and transferring to new departments. His work extends to information recovery and extraction, collaborating with the company's legal team, government security breaches, as well as day to day management of internal data. Prior to transitioning into digital security, Mr. Burnett worked in site management as a licensed security officer for Securitas Security Services USA.
Mr. Burnett's interest in cybersecurity was sparked by his favorite television shows and movies as a child. Upon completing an associate degree at Austin Community College, he earned a Bachelor's degree in psychology at Texas State University, graduating in 2017. While he had initially intended to pursue a career in clinical psychology, a career advisor encouraged him to pursue cybersecurity. He holds numerous industry credentials and is currently pursuing a Project Management Professional certification.
Outside of his work in security, Mr. Burnett has served proudly in the United States Army, a period of time that he considers to be a highlight of his personal life and professional career. Additionally, he has advised several individuals as a career coach and worked as a parking lot attendant for the Austin, Texas-based Shoreline Church. In recognition of his outstanding commitment to his work, Mr. Burnett was presented with an award by the University of Texas at Austin Project Management Team in Cybersecurity.
Mr. Burnett credits his success to his faith in God and his desire to help others. In his personal life, Mr. Burnett is active in his community as mentor program chair for the PMI Austin Chapter. In the coming years, he looks forward to helping others achieve greatness in the cybersecurity field and hopes to keep growing professionally. He enjoys exercise, spending time outside, and playing laser tag in his free time.
