CHAMPAIGN, IL, February 20, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Blair Danielle Hankey has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Hankey is distinguished for her success as an entrepreneur and dance teacher. In 2017, she founded Dancepiration Dance Academy, a studio that offers classes in multiple styles of dance, including ballet, hip hop, tap, pointe and contemporary. With students ranging in age from 2 years old to teenagers, Ms. Hankey not only teaches competitive dance skills but also provides opportunities for young people to socialize. The studio has quickly gained popularity in the community; while it served 36 students in its first year, it has now grown to almost 150 students.
Dance has long been a passion of Ms. Hankey; she, herself, started dancing at the age of 2. After graduating high school and entering adulthood, Ms. Hankey was eager to get a jumpstart on her career; she perceived it as an opportunity to start her own studio. Teaching was a perfect fit for her, as she had experience working with children as a student teacher and believed that being a role model for others was her calling. Ms. Hankey's young age has not held her back in the slightest; in fact, she is the youngest person to be featured as a business owner in Iroquois County's Times-Republic, which wrote about the studio in its Down to Business section. She was also featured through 'Tip The Scale' as their local celebrity and JJC supporter; it highlighted her youth advocacy efforts.
Well regarded for her contributions to the field, a group of Ms. Hankey's students was selected by a panel of judges to perform at the 2019 World Dance Championship in New Jersey. She is proud to display a whole wall of trophies and plaques recognizing her and her dancers' talents. However, she doesn't feel that these awards define her passion; of her numerous accomplishments, she believes that her most notable has been teaching young people to dance and raising them to be independent and confident. Ms. Hankey attributes her success to her passion for teaching and to the students and supportive parents she serves.
Outside of her studio, Ms. Hankey enjoys spending time with her husband, a data analyst for an agriculture company, and other family members. Her hobbies include being outdoors, road tripping, and traveling to new places and trying new things - it is a goal of hers to visit all 50 states and as many different countries as possible. This summer, Ms. Hankey will travel to Las Vegas to obtain a dance teacher certification, and she is also pursuing Pilates and yoga instructor certification.
