EAGLE RIVER, AK, February 21, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rev. Gracie M. Jackson, PhD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected based on current reference value. Drawing on over four decades of diverse expertise, Rev. Gracie M. Jackson, has found much success as a founding member and Executive Director of Love in the Name of Christ, or Love INC of Eagle River, since 2008. Better known in the community as Reverend Gracie. Love INC partners with 19 local churches in Eagle River, Chugiak, and Peters Creek.
Rev. Gracie is the mother of two children, Russell L. Jackson, Jr. married to Laurie Jackson. They have three children: Justine Gilford married to Trevor Gilford; Teresa Chronister married to Johny Chronister and Sha Jackson married to Vera Jackson. Rodney L. Jackson and Janet Jackson have three children and one grandchild: Lindsy Jackson and daughter Mila; Gates Jackson, and Garrett Jackson.
In addition to her main vocation, she has served as Pastor of Grace Ministries since 2005. Prior to this role, she was the Assistant Pastor of Eagle River Missionary Baptist Church. She was employed for the State of Alaska as a Project Assistant/developer of a faith-based program in the Anchorage jail. This project prepared inmates for employment opportunities as they transitioned out of prison. She retired from the State of Alaska in 2006. Rev. Gracie initially began her career working in the oil industry retiring in 1995 after 26 years.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Rev. Gracie pursued an education at the University of Alaska. She received an Associates of Arts degree and at Wayland Baptist University a bachelor's degree in business and biblical studies and she was the graduating class speaker. She continued her academic efforts at the Central Baptist Theological Seminary, earning a Master of Divinity. She received an award from Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges for outstanding merit and accomplishment as a student at Central Baptist Theological Seminary for 1999-2000. She then continued her scholarly endeavors at the Atlantic Coast College of the Bible and Theological Seminary, where she attained a Doctor of Philosophy in Pulpit Communication. She has been active as a member with the Delta Kappa Gamma, Nu Chapter. In 2001, she was acknowledged as an Ambassador for Peace, "The Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace" in recognition of her international ministry. She is a Toastmaster with many ribbons.
Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Rev. Gracie is a past president of the Alaska Youth and Parent Foundation, past Founding President of Crisis Pregnancy Center, Past President of Mother's Christian Fellowship Club, Past President of Job Service Employment Committee; organizes the National Day of Prayer, Thanksgiving Blessing for Eagle River, and Christmas House for Love INC of Eagle River. She contributes to various charities and events in her local community. Well regarded for her achievements in the field, she has received multiple awards, including the New Life Award from the Board of National Ministry of American Baptist. Looking toward the future, Rev. Jackson aspires to pass on her legacy and train the next executive director of Love INC of Eagle River.
Rev. Gracie acknowledges her mentors Ulysses Ross, Sr., Reverend Dr. William Greene, Shelia Gaddis, Reverend Dr. Molly T. Marshall, Reverend Dr. Chaplain Patricia Ann Ray, Dr. M. Hildon Guy, and Rev. Helen Phillips. They have all impacted her life in wonderful and special ways.
