Leveraging more than a decade of excellence in business risk management, Mr. Sasikanth has earned distinction as a risk manager in capital markets and fintech. Since 2011, he has focused his efforts on handling market, credit, payment and insurance risks, helping business leaders understand how to quantify risks in the portfolio, how the risk can be managed and what kind of actions need to be taken to mitigate those risks.
Outside of his primary career efforts, Mr. Sasikanth serves as a finance club moderator for the IIT Bay Area Alumni Association to promote financial awareness among the non-finance professionals. He has also been a risk data scientist for product risk and strategy team at Stripe since 2021 and has served as a risk advisor to FinTech and Digital Asset start-ups. Also dedicated to civil advocacy and a strong believer in giving back, he volunteers with the local ASPCA and is a student mentor for the UCLA Alumni Association.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Sasikanth began his career as a risk modeling analyst for Aon Benfield in India in 2011 and was part of the insurance risk analytics team for Swiss Re in 2013. After immigrating to the United States, he joined the quantitative risk analytics and portfolio risk management team of Western Asset Management in 2017 and was an advisor with 2nd Payer Finance, Inc. in 2018. He subsequently became a quantitative risk manager for BlockFi in 2021 helping manage the digital asset lending books for them.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Sasikanth earned a master of science (M.Sc) in Mathematics and Scientific Computing from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur (IITK), India in 2011. He then attained a master's degree in Financial Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Anderson School of Management in 2016. Well-qualified in his field, he is pursuing the chartered financial analyst certification and holds a certification in code artificial intelligence and machine learning from MIT Professional Education.
Within the coming years, Mr. Sasikanth intends to continue growing his career in risk management, help build risk platforms for real-time risk monitoring, promote risk awareness among business leaders and create informative content about the field. Accounting for his success thus far, he credits his natural inclination toward working with numbers and probabilities as well as his keen ability to think creatively outside of the box and taking action.
