ENCINO, CA, February 23, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gordon K. Goldman, PhD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Leveraging more than six decades of excellence in chemical consulting for the oil, gas and petrochemicals industries, Dr. Goldman has earned distinction as the managing director and chief executive officer of Malcera, L.L.C. From 2006 until his retirement in 2015, he focused his efforts on serving as an expert witness in cases involving causes of explosions and patent disputes involving chemical processes and refinery processes. He also worked internationally in many areas in the industry, including recovery of wastewater from refineries and other kinds of wastewater treatment processes. Additionally, he is a valued member of the American Institute of Chemists and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Goldman began his career as an assistant research professor with the University of California, Berkeley in 1960 and was a research process engineer for the Chevron Standard Oil Company of California in 1961, joining the team for the newly invented and patented Chevron UOP Isomax. This is now the most important hydrocracking process in the world and he was part of the team developing the technology. He was part of the catalyst process modifications and design upgrades based upon crude oil feedstocks to be processed and was involved with the Chevron study on the physical and chemical properties of paraffin wax and various crude oils. He also investigated the processes related to gas to liquid fuels and led a team that investigated the use of water at supercritical pressure and pressure as an economical substitute for hydrogen and hydrocracking processes.
Dr. Goldman subsequently worked with Mobil Oil from 1969 and was an independent oil and gas chemical consultant in New York and Louisiana from 1974 until retiring in 2015. While in this role, he worked in the area of zeolite catalysts for FCC units and in the area of Ziegler-Natta Catalyst Polymerization processes. He designed and performed research on new catalyst for the low pressure polymerization of polyolefin.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Goldman has served as an expert witness and was an invited speaker, presenter and lecturer for international workshops and conferences for 10 years. Among other engagements, he was a speaker and presenter on "Natural gas being the up and coming new raw material for the 21st century" for the Institute for International Refining Conference in Dubai in 1997. He has given workshops to different international refineries and was hired by different companies such as Chevron and Shell to give presentations in South America, Singapore, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia, among other places internationally. He has also lent his expertise as a fundraising volunteer for the chemical engineering department of the University of California, Los Angeles.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Goldman earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and chemical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1957. He then attained a Doctor of Philosophy in physical and organic chemistry and chemical engineering from Purdue University in 1960.
Within the coming years, Dr. Goldman intends to focus more of his time investigating new ideas and concepts in the oil and gas industries. He is interested in how mankind will be able to provide water for our planet's burgeoning population over the next twenty to thirty years and believes it is crucial for science and technology to develop new and ingenious methods, especially in consideration of our issues with climate change. He is a fervent believer that A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) maybe a route to solving this enigma.
