FREDERICKSBURG, VA, February 24, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kellee Akers has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
A seasoned expert in education, program management, and more, Mrs. Akers excelled in her role as a Graduate Program Manager at George Washington University, School of Business from 2019 - 2023. She recently accepted a new role as the Associate Director of Enrollment Services for Germanna Community College in January 2023, where she will continue serving her community. Since joining the Community College, she has been tasked with overseeing Assistant Registrars, Workforce Development, and working with the Dean of Enrollment Services/Registrar to oversee and provide a seamless admission and registration process for students. During the early stages of her career, Mrs. Akers gained valuable expertise in education with Northern Virginia Community College, Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech, and The George Washington University School of Business. Additionally, she served as a teller operation specialist for Bank of America and an administrative assistant with Kean University.
Outside of her work, Mrs. Akers aligns herself with the National Society of Leadership and Success. Before embarking on her professional journey, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Kean University. Subsequently, she received a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Phoenix. In light of her professional achievements, Mrs. Akers has been presented with three awards from Northern Virginia Community College for her advisory role in the student government association from 2015-2017.
Though her career has been filled with highlights, Mrs. Akers takes the most pride in teaching a first-year education orientation course at Northern Virginia Community College while pursuing her master's degree. Although it was her first teaching experience, she fostered a relaxed and unstructured atmosphere, which involved listening to students and allowing them to engage in the class through games and other activities. The cornerstone of her success lay with her mother, who was an educator herself, as well as her husband, who has encouraged her every step of her professional journey. In the coming years, Mrs. Akers will remain open to the idea of earning her doctorate. However, if she decides not to further her educational career, she will continue her work to open a bed and breakfast in honor of her grandmother.
