Building on a diverse background in leadership and law, Ms. Campbell is recognized for her success as president of the Southeast Region for Compass, where she is responsible for driving key company outcomes, strategy and operations from Maryland to Florida. Since joining the real estate technology company as regional president in 2018, she has applied her expertise in scaling to create greater impact; whereas her division had 300 agents and 30 staff members at the time she was hired, she is now supporting more than 6,000 agents and several hundred employees. Her responsibilities include working with real estate agents across the region to help them grow their business by providing the best services, support models and technology and leading national initiatives to drive profit and other key outcomes.
Prior to joining Compass, Ms. Campbell served as chief executive officer for America Needs You, a nonprofit organization that fights for economic mobility for ambitious, low-income college students by providing mentorship and intensive career development. Previously, Ms. Campbell was an attorney with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where she spent seven years in the mergers and acquisitions department and working with pro bono clients.
Before venturing onto her vocational path, Ms. Campbell earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance and computer information systems from the University of Michigan Stephen M. Ross School of Business with high distinction and a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School. Even more than her excellent educational credentials, Ms. Campbell attributes her success to her early exposure to her parents' food service business; growing up in Chicago, she worked for her parents from the age of 6 through college. Learning the inner workings of their business gave her a strong work ethic and taught her basic concepts that young people don't typically learn in school, such as customer service, inventory, supply and demand, and building a profitable business. This practical education provided her a solid foundation, and while she experienced imposter syndrome in the workplace, those feelings just helped spur her to work harder, prepare more, and succeed.
Outside of work, Ms. Campbell serves on the board of D.C. WISE (Women in Solidarity for Empowerment). She is married with a 6-month-old son. In her free time, she enjoys running marathons, traveling and spending time with family.
