BELLEVILLE, IL, February 28, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Shelley Maberry has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
A proven force in the business consulting and training world, Shelley Maberry has accrued more than 25 years of expertise in her professional endeavors, including as an entrepreneur.
Matriculating at Southern Illinois University, Ms. Maberry earned a Bachelor of Science in health education in 1983, followed by a Master of Science in Education in school health in 1986. During her collegiate studies, she and her classmates were told that having skills in writing grants would give them an edge in job hunting, which she now notes as the best advice she received during her academic career. Ms. Maberry also completed coursework in the entrepreneurship acceleration program at The Wharton School, as well as in diversity and inclusion at Cornell University. Additionally, she holds numerous credentials, including certification as a coach, speaker, and consultant through the Grant Cardone Licensee program and as a health education specialist, a grants evaluator, a secondary teacher and a substance abuse prevention specialist.
At the beginning of her professional work, Ms. Maberry served as a health educator, grant writer and evaluator for St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro, Illinois from 1996 to 2003. Between 2002 and 2004, she gained additional experience as a grant writer for The Women's Center of Carbondale, Illinois and as a program development manager for SIHF Healthcare in East St. Louis, Illinois. Even earlier, she dedicated time to teaching, offering her knowledge to Southern Illinois University, John A. Logan Community College and Dixon Public High School. With a desire to spearhead her own grant-writing firm, Ms. Maberry took a leap of faith and prepared for a new journey as an entrepreneur.
In 2003, Ms. Maberry established Maberry Consulting and Evaluation Services (MCES) LLC in Swansea, Illinois, as its chief executive officer. A boutique firm that focuses on assisting clients in expanding their revenue capabilities, including those in the nonprofit, state, private, and educational sectors, she offers evaluation services, competitive procurement RFPs, grant management and peer review, government proposals and bid writing, as well as comprehensive grant services. Presently serving 39 of the 50 U.S. states, Ms. Maberry is also involved with several international projects. She personally writes more than 30 grants per year and serves as the external evaluator on more than 40 federal and state grant programs each year.
Since the establishment of her firm, Ms. Maberry's consulting business has secured more than $2 billion in grant funding for its clients and continues to maintain a win rate of over 81 percent, a phenomenal statistic in the grant management industry. Quite selective of the projects her firm accepts, her goal is about winning grants rather than writing as many grants as possible. Alongside such accomplishments, in 2022, she was featured on Bloomberg television's "World's Greatest," an award-winning show highlighting noteworthy people, companies and places.
Alongside her responsibilities at MCES, Ms. Maberry has served as the director of the Heartland Institutional Review Board in Swansea since 2010. In this role, she provides protocol reviews to ensure service protection from human subjects in research. Additionally, Ms. Maberry founded The New DBA (Dreamer Believer Achiever) LLC in Belleville, Illinois in 2022. To attest to her skills and professional prowess, she has also served as an expert witness on behalf of the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah's Central Division and as an editorial board member for Coursework Publishing Inc.
Ms. Maberry believes the adrenaline rush accompanying grant writing further established her trajectory into the field, and she has seen it as one of her best strengths. Likewise, she attributes her success to her inherent skill in grant management and her ability to actualize her clients' goals, as she believes their trust has been integral to achieving the many milestones her company has reached over the years. She also notes that being a lifelong learner has given her a leg up in her work. Dedicated to building a lasting leagcy, Ms. Maberry hopes for the continued growth of her three businesses in the coming years. She sums it up as, "There will never be a shortage of grant opportunities."
