PINE GROVE, PA, February 28, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Douglas Alan Black has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
For more than a decade, Mr. Black has been serving as the owner and operator at Blackstone Farm LLC, an established thoroughbred nursery that was founded more than 20 years ago. Located on more than 350 acres in Pine Grove, Pennsylvania, Mr. Black's farm focuses on the best interest of all the horses via proper nutrition and exercise, with more than 200 acres of pasture for them to roam. Additionally, Blackstone Farm has a foaling barn with 29 stalls, fans, heat, light, closed circuit cameras, and other amenities.
Among the multitude of thoroughbred horses that have been raised at Blackstone include Tom's Ready, Bronx Beauty, The Critical Way, Dark Nile, and Nice Ace. Mr. Black attributes his success in the industry to his distinguished tenure in the horseracing business, which began in 1989. Looking toward the future, he aims to hire several additional employees so that his nursery can continue to thrive.
Prior to racing and breeding horses, Mr. Black garnered recognition for his hard work and perseverance as a professional salesman beginning in 1985. He subsequently purchased the business and merged it with another company, which became known as Black Gold International. Serving as the president and chief executive officer, Mr. Black's manufacturing company specialized in making men's formal wear and accessories. During an earlier stage of his career, Mr. Black was involved in the arts and entertainment industry. Pursuing a degree at New York University at the time, he ultimately dropped out of college to form his own theater company, which notably performed two shows on Off-Off-Broadway in New York City. Despite having to quit school because he could no longer afford tuition, the defining moment shaped Mr. Black's future and his ability to pivot and still find success.
To remain abreast in his field, Mr. Black is a prominent member of several industry-related organizations, including the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association, the Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association, the Consigners and Commercial Breeders Association, and the Sales Integrity Program.
