Mr. Pires started buying and selling on eBay when he was 12 years old. In his search for merchandise at low prices to resell, he stumbled upon the multi-billion dollar liquidation industry in the USA and started to research it and eventually founded the business to not only sell to consumers but also to wholesale to resellers of all sizes. Mr. Pires has also developed the concept of selling random mixes of liquidation merchandise in small lots called "Mystery Boxes" to supply the vast demand for merchandise from resellers selling on marketplaces such as eBay, Amazon, Facebook, and many others.
In 2014, Mr. Pires started doing business with Jack Stadtman, one of the original founders of Michael's Craft Stores. Mr. Stadtman had been doing business in the liquidation world after selling his craft business. Mr. Pires and Mr. Stadtman developed a very trustworthy business relationship over time and, in 2018, decided to formally merge their operations to continue to expand the Quicklotz brand and its innovative business model.
Prior to the formation of Quicklotz, Mr. Pires earned a Bachelor of Science with a Quad Major in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, e-Commerce, and Computer Science Software Applications from Limestone University. Alongside his responsibilities as a CEO, he maintains an active affiliation with the Reverse Logistics Association. Mr. Pires additionally contributes to numerous local charitable organizations, particularly food banks, and local churches.
For the last five years, Quicklotz has been named in the Inc5000 list of fastest growing private companies in America. In 2022, Quicklotz was notably featured in the Wall Street Journal. Born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Mr. Pires attributes a great deal of his success to the resourcefulness he developed during his childhood growing up in a third world country. He also credits his talent for leadership to his father and grandfather, who enjoyed prosperous careers as the owners of multiple businesses.
