Ms. Martin has earned distinction as an interior designer with HKS Inc., where she specializes in improving the firm's commercial interiors practice, with a particular focus on the ever-changing needs of the workforce. She participates in the HKS research incubator, "The Future of Work," and hopes to use the knowledge and tools she gains to educate and inform clients on the importance of maintaining a healthy work ecosystem.
Ms. Martin has held a great passion for design since her childhood, when she would watch television and see beautiful interior spaces that inspired her to create designs of her own. Her interest in the interior design profession evolved when she was in high school and college as she developed a more comprehensive understanding of the field and became interested in public spaces. Ultimately, she decided to work on projects that would impact more than just a single homeowner.
In the next five years, Ms. Martin hopes to begin pursuing a doctorate in environmental psychology, so she can better understand the relationship between the brain and our natural and artificial environments. She is interested in exploring what makes the brain tick in different settings and atmospheres.
Ms. Martin holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the University of Texas at Arlington. She also holds designations as a registered interior designer from the State of Texas, a certified interior designer from the Council for Interior Design Qualification, and a WELL accredited professional from the International WELL Building Institute.
Ms. Martin is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers, Tau Sigma Delta and Alpha Chi Omega. Likewise, she is an Alpha Rho Chi bronze medal recipient.
