Dr. Austin is an experienced internist who was invited in 2014 to join the International Consortium on Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a global group of experts. EDS is a disease of collagen making joints, ligaments, and cartilage too flexible, which leads to early joint degeneration, poor muscle conditioning, poor wound healing, neurological symptoms, and vascular or organ ruptures.
